Betsy Duffey

Betsy Duffey is a licensed counselor and worked for four years with homeless women, often using writing as a tool for healing. Over the years Betsy has spoken at hundreds of elementary schools and has shared her ideas with countless women’s groups. She lives with her husband in Atlanta, Georgia. They have two grown sons. Betsy and her sister, Laurie Myers, write together as the Writing Sisters.

Q. What is your motto or maxim?

A. "It is not my ability, but my response to God’s ability, that counts." — Corrie Ten Boom

Q. If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would you choose to be?

A. In the Georgia mountains, in a rocking chair, with a good book. (I’m an introvert.)

Q. What’s your greatest fear?

A. Clowns and monkeys. These deep-seated fears were inherited from my mother who also fears clowns and monkeys. (My sister does too.)

Q. With whom in history do you most identify?

A. The disciple, Peter. He always seemed to be doing and saying the wrong thing but Jesus loved him and worked with him anyway. That is very reassuring.

A. Loving people
