On Books and Writing
Q. How did you come to write Camilla d'Errico's Burn?
A. BURN is my first creator owned series and it started while I was in college doing my degree in illustration and design. The idea for BURN came after I watched the movie “AI’ by Steven Spielberg. I loved the idea of a robotic boy, but was even more intrigued by the idea of what would happen if a real boy were actually merged with a machine that also was sentient. So then I began thinking of a more conflicting story and the differences between man and machine and who really has the right to live. It's my interpretation of the mind and our complete inability to control the universe. We think we control our destiny or that we have some level of control over our actions, and BURN is about the loss of all control.
