Daniella Brodsky

In addition to VIVIAN RISING, Daniella Brodsky is the author of THE VELVET ROPE DIARIES, PRINCESS OF PARK AVENUE, and DIARY OF A WORKING GIRL, which has been made into a movie on the ABC Family network starring Hilary Duff. Brodsky is also the creator and author of the GIRL'S GUIDE TO NEW YORK NIGHTLIFE series. She has been featured on Good Day New York, the WB Morning News, NPR radio, and in the New York Times, the New York Post and the Hartford Courant. She teaches the craft of fiction writing at The Australian National University's CCE program, and has led discussions about writing at libraries, bookstores and schools in the U.S.. A. Never take no for an answer

A. To fly! If we're being realistic, I wouldn't mind singing or racecar driving.

A. I'm living it!

Q. If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would you choose to be?

A. Where I am...in my yard, my puppy sleeping in a square of sunshine by my side.

A. I don't really think this way. I just like to be the best I'm capable of.

What are you thankful for this year?
My family, friends, and, of course - sweet potato pie with mini marshmallows.

What is your favorite Thanksgiving meal food?
Everything - the turkey, the afore mentioned sweet potatoes, the stuffing, oy.

What are your favorite winter activities?
I gotta be honest. I hate the cold. Sure, that first snow is great, kicking up the holiday music and getting toasty. I love to decorate the tree, though I’m Jewish and I know this is frowned upon. But I adore it as much as I love to light my great grandmother’s menorah and sing the prayers from the back of the candle box. How could... see more
