Dean Crawford

Dean Crawford began writing after his dream of becoming a fighter pilot in the Royal Air Force was curtailed when he failed their stringent sight tests. Fusing his interest in science with a love of fast-paced revelatory thrillers, he soon found a career that he could pursue with as much passion as flying a fighter jet. Now a full-time author, he lives with his partner and daughter in Surrey. Visit www.deancrawfordbooks.com and follow Dean on Twitter @DCrawfordBooks.

My Life in 8 Words

Author Revealed

Q. What is your motto or maxim?

A. Never quit.

Q. If you could meet any historical character, who would it be and what would you say to him or her?

A. Giordano Bruno, a Dominican  priest who suggested that the universe was filled with stars, planets and life, contrary to "scripture". For this he was burned at the stake in 1600 by the Catholic Church during the "Inquisition". I'd thank him profusely for standing up to religious tyranny and for ultimately leading to our new world where scientific endeavour conquered the ignorance of blind faith.

Q. If you could be any person or thing, who or what would it be?

A. An astronaut!

Q. With whom in history do you most identify?

A. The late Carl Sagan: I reckon we were on the same wavelength.

Q. What’s your best quality?

A. Again, according to my parter it's my "easy going" nature.
