Gillian Shields Revealed

Q. What is your motto or maxim? A. If you can't have what you want, try to want what you have. Q. Is there a book you love to reread? A. All of the books I have already mentioned. I also adored 'A Traveller in Time' by Alison Uttley, and have read that several times, but my biggest reread favourite is 'I Capture the Castle''. Q. Do you have one sentence of advice for new writers? A. Don't give up! Q. Who are your favorite authors? A. When I was a child my favourite authors were E. Nesbit and Frances Hodgson Burnett and C.S. Lewis. I still love them! Favourite adult authors include Charlotte Bronte, Evelyn Waugh and Alexander McCall Smith. And I really admire David Almond's books, and I love Harry Potter, and all Tolkien's books, and anything funny . . . Q. What comment do you hear most often from your readers? A.
