A. Chase joy.

A. For dancing: Walking on Sunshine, I Want You Back, Flashdance (What a Feeling), Train in Vain. For transcending all of life: Thunder Road.

Q. What is your biggest pet peeve?

A. Writers who abandon their duty (David Chase, writer of The Sopranos last episode, I'm talking to you) or, worse, writers who shoot to fame via a particular series then hit the big time and don't want to accomodate the fans anymore. Annie Wilkes, I think you may have been on to something.

Q. If you could meet any historical character, who would it be and what would you say to him or her?

A. Captain Jack Aubrey, and "I may or may not have the French naval code book hidden in my gown."

Q. Which living person do you most admire?

A. Anyone who faces loss with grace.
