On Books and Writing
Q. How did you come to write Lady in Blue?
A. I was really pushed by Fate to write this novel. It all began in 1991 when I first noticed the surprising story of Sister Mary of Agreda, a spanish seventeenth century cloistered nun who had the gift of bilocation --she was in New Mexico, preaching to the Native Americans and in her convent, at the same time! I was obsessed with this phenomena for years, and finally I decided to write down my conclusions in a novel. This is the most personal novel I have written to date.
