A. Salsa. Seriously, it's the perfect sustanance. It's a food, it's a drink... maybe a few chips to sprinkle in it, and I'm set.

Q. Do you have one sentence of advice for new writers?
A. Write something that you know better than anyone else. Don't rehash what's already out there.
Q. What comment do you hear most often from your readers?
A. How did Chalcy become so devoted to you?
Q. How did you come to write Dog Rules?
A. I wrote a successful book called "101 Dog Tricks" which had step-by-step instructions for teaching every one of the tricks. That's A LOT of steps! By the end of my writing, I felt like telling the reader "look, I'm just describing the same handful of concepts over and over, with different details. Just learn the concepts, and you'll be able to figure out the details on your own." So in my next book, I wrote the concepts! And that's how The Dog Rules was born.
