Lara has a lifelong love affair with animals, especially daschunds, and always has an animal or two snuggled close when writing.

Q. What is your motto or maxim?

A. Always fight for your happiness!

A. Really? (no, really, that's the one I use the most). Seriously! (that's another one).

Q. What’s your greatest fear?

A. One time, when I was in the shower, I washed my face with a washcloth (like normal). After washing my face, I open the washcloth to rinse it out and there was a scorpion! I screamed and jumped out of the shower! Would you believe that scorpion didn't sting me? *shiver*

Q. Who is your favorite fictional hero?

A. Atticus Finch in "To Kill a Mockingbird" is such a symbol of strength, integrity, and honor in the face of social and legal challenges. He valued every life, not just that of a white man.

Q. With whom in history do you most identify?

A. Maya Angelou is a woman who wrote incredibly powerful poems that empowered women to be who they were meant to be without apology. Girl power!
