Q. How did you come to write On Pointe?

A. I was a dancer and member of theMiami Ballet Company until I grew too tall to continue a professional career. I wrote On Pointe to explore the idea that sometimes dreams do end for reasons beyond our control. Strength and character come from dreaming and reaching again.
