Q. How did you come to write Dating from the Inside Out?
A. I wrote 'Dating from the Inside Out' after going through the process of finding my own husband. When I returned from graduate school and was ready to date and settle down, popular dating advice like 'The Rules' was suggesting that singles use universal manipulative outer-focused tactics while dating. I did not want to do this and I knew there was a better way to form a healthy partnership. So, I spent time thinking about what was most important to me in a mate, how I wanted to attract him and why I even wanted to date.

Simultaneously, as a psychologist I had many clients who were struggling to meet a mate. They had long standing patterns of choosing the same type of unhealthy match again and again and were very frustrated. We were able to look at their relationship patterns and help them to move on and attract a new kind of partner, and they learned a lot about themselves in the process.

Since I had seen this work for myself, in psychotherapy, coaching and my classes, I wanted to write a book to spread this knowledge to people I might never meet otherwise. My overall mission is to help people learn and love more.

In writing 'Dating from the inside Out' I combined my personal experience, my experiences in psychotherapy and coaching, feedback from dating columns and classes to provide the most resonant information on how to attract an authentic spiritual partnership.
