Working for a world that functions for all

Either we create a world that really works for all, or soon it will work for no one! For centuries, the rich, the powerful, the nobility, the military, the clergy (nearly all men) ran the world in their interest, while the majority of the population eked out a more than modest living. This worked in a very sparsely populated world (we were one billion in 1800) of primitive technologies and slow communications. Today, we just reached seven billion, communications are instantaneous and technologies often dangerous, terrorism worldwide and environmental degradation accelerating. In such a world, there are no more private paradises. As Martin Luther King observed: "It really boils down to this: that all of life is interrelated. We are all caught in an inescapable network of mutuality; tied to a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly affects all indirectly." So the most important activity on the planet is creating an awareness of our complete interdependence and the realization that by healing my brother, I am in fact healing myself, as WE ARE ALL ONE. And blessing is one modest tool among many others to help us on the way to this unified consciousness.
