Sabrina Jeffries

Sabrina Jeffries is the New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author of several Regency-set historical romance series, including the Royal Brotherhood, The School for Heiresses, The Hellions of Halstead Hall, The Duke’s Men, and The Sinful Suitors. Whatever time is not spent writing in a coffee-fueled haze is spent traveling with her husband and adult autistic son or indulging in one of her passions—jigsaw puzzles, chocolate, music, and costume parties. With more than eight million books in print in twenty different languages, the North Carolina author never regrets tossing aside a budding career in academics for the sheer joy of writing fun fiction and hopes that one day a book of hers will end up saving the world. She always dreams big.

Author Revealed

Q. What is your motto or maxim?

A. Love doesn't come easy. That's what makes it so rewarding!

Q. Who is your favorite fictional villain?

A. Hannibal Lecter. He's fascinating!

Q. Who is your favorite fictional hero?

A. Mr. Darcy from Austen's Pride and Prejudice

Q. With whom in history do you most identify?

A. Aphra Behn, one of the first English professional writers. I have not had nearly the exploits she had, but she blazed the trail for other writers and spoke her mind. A lot. As do I.

Q. If you could meet any historical character, who would it be and what would you say to him or her?

A. I would love to meet Elizabeth I. What an amazing woman! I'd ask her if she really had any lovers, and which ones were the best. Oh, and how she managed to rule England so effectively. Plus, I'd ask if she knew if Shakespeare's works were really written by him. I mean, she should know, right?
