Author Revealed

Q. Who is your favorite fictional villain?

A. So many to choose from. Severus Snape, because he's so complex, much more interesting than Voldemort. Richardson's Lovelace in CLARISSA, both hero and villain.

Q. What is your favorite occupation, when you’re not writing?

A. Thinking about writing. Reading... But I do a lot of things: garden, knit, do altered photography, make jewelry, sculpt things. I love to repair almost anything and I love going to yard sales. I usually have a basement full of chairs, and I even wrote a poem about reupholstering a chair.

Q. What trait is most noticeable about you?

A. My accent, which is the remnant of a speech defect that was retrained by a man who had studied in London.

Q. What are your most overused words or phrases?

A. I really overuse emoticons. And "really." Not in books but in email and tweets.
