Q. If you could be any person or thing, who or what would it be?

A. I would like to be the oldest, strongest redwood tree on earth -- what scope and wisdom!

Q. What is your biggest pet peeve?

A. I want to shake people who have no empathy ; it's not that difficult to imagine yourself in another creature's -- human or animal-- skin (or exoskeleton) and imagine he/she has not had your advantages. Piece of cake, really!

Q. What is your favorite occupation, when you’re not writing?

A. Depends on what you mean by "occupation." Teaching high school English was my favorite job, but my favorite hobbies are riding mountain bikes, riding horses and reading, reading, reading. Oh, I enjoy cooking, too.

Q. What are your 5 favorite songs?

A. You're No Good,  If It Makes You Happy,  Desperado, Goodbye Earl, Greensleeves and Somewhere Over the Rainbow (but ONLY by IZ)
