Yolonda Tonette Sanders took a leap of faith by resigning from her job with the State of Ohio to focus more on writing. It was a leap that she has never regretted, as several of her novels have been published, including Soul Matters, Secrets of a Sinner, and In Times of Trouble. All of her books have appeared on Essence’s bestseller list. Currently, Yolonda resides in Columbus, Ohio, and is the loving wife of David, proud mother of Tre and Tia, and joyful caregiver of her mother, Wilene.

Q. What is your motto or maxim?

A. Thanks to Tony Horton from P90X, I find myself saying "Do your best and forget the rest," a lot.

Q. What do you regret most?

A. Saying or doing something that hurt the people I love.

Q. If you could acquire any talent, what would it be?

A. Playing basketball. It is my favorite sport, besides volleyball, and I cannot play at all.

Q. With whom in history do you most identify?

A. King David because though I don't always understand God, I do trust Him.

Q. What is your greatest achievement?

A. This may sound corny, but I think my greatest achievement is having good time management skills. Without those skills, I would not be able to accomplish anything because I have a LOT going on, both personally and professionally.
