Q. If you could meet any historical character, who would it be and what would you say to him or her?

A. How can you ask a historical novelist that question and expect her to come back with just one character? What would I say to them? “Did this really happen the way I imagined it?”

A. I don't do confrontation.

Q. With whom in history do you most identify?

A. Queen Elizabeth I.
