Shelby Bach

Shelby Bach grew up reading every book she could find and writing stories in battered notebooks. She also rarely came home with a clean shirt and had a lot of accidents that ended with a hunt for Band-Aids. Nowadays, she writes on her laptop rather than in a notebook, but not much else has changed. She is the author of the Ever After series, which includes OfGiants and Ice, Of Witches and Wind, Of Sorcery and Snow, and Of Enemies and Endings. She lives in Portland, Oregon.

My Life in 8 Words

Author Revealed

Q. What is your motto or maxim?

A. Written on the cover of my journal: "I go to seek a Great Perhaps." - François Rabelais (via John Green)

Q. What’s your greatest flaw?

A. I have a temper like a volcano. No activity above the surface for eons, but when I finally erupt, it causes a natural disaster.

Q. If you could eat only one thing for the rest of your days, what would it be?

A. MACARONI & CHEESE! With a really tart green apple on the side. :-)

Q. If you could acquire any talent, what would it be?

A. I would LOVE to be able to be able to roll my "r's." I'm the only one in the family who can't do it. The best I can manage is a weird coo.

Q. What is your favorite occupation, when you’re not writing?

A. I love to explore. I love seeing new places. I'll take a walk without any particular destination and discover where wandering takes me. Runner's up: reading, baking (especially scones), knitting, skiing
